if i were sitting on santa's lap...michael kors, please!

there are many things on my christmas list (as to be expected), but one thing i haven't blogged about yet is this michael kors horn chronograph watch ($195). i've had my eye on it for quite some time and i just can't get over it. sure, i'd rather nick size down his cartier tank (please?!) for little old me, but this little gem would certainly tide me over. i still love the michele watch i've been rocking since 2003 but i really could use a break since i've worn it every single day since i brought it home...too bad the MK horn is backordered til jan. nick, i reaaaaaally hope you scooped it up before it was too late!

dusty birds

zara blouse, jcrew jacket, forever21 necklace, old navy jeans, kors shoes

after putting this blog post together i realized that i REALLY need to dust the mirror in my bedroom. forgive me...

i picked up this blouse from zara last weekend while i should have been doing some christmas shopping. it reminds me of miu miu's bird print, which is too expensive for this little lady to own, so zara's rip-off version will have to do.

promise i'll bring the tripod back soon.

ps. hope you guys had a great weekend! nick and i took a little trip to san antonio for an overnight getaway. it was really fun to get out of town without an agenda. we filled our time with a good mix of things - some christmas shopping, some wine-drinking and some touristy stuff. sad to see monday come so quickly.

outfit in action: canadian tuxedo

banana republic top, new york and company jeans, michael kors wedges, belt from nyc street vendor, banana republic cuff, danielle stevens necklace

when the chambray shirt came back into favor last year, i admit i was a bit skeptical. jean on jean = canadian tuxedo in my book. however, i've embraced the chambray craze (and so has my dad for the last 25 years) and i rocked it all day and all night. it was a super comfy work outfit and transitioned well to see tosh.0 at bass concert hall that night.

outfit in action: purple and "vintage"

friiiiiiiiiiiiiiday!

i've had these michael kors wedges for aaaages...so long, in fact, that i refer to them as "vintage" just for kicks. i decided to pair them up with a club monaco sweater and (very wrinkly, oops) skirt, banana republic belt and forever 21 necklaces. and i'm still loving my funky dunkey OPI toes, too.

bring on the weekend, please. we heard we're getting our couches tomorrow, three blissful weeks early. squeeeeee!!!

i love me some haircalf

i've always been a sucker for animal print accessories so i was happy to see designers embracing haircalf again this season. two of my favorite pieces - the perfect haircalf flat for $155 and perfect haircalf clutch for $125 are by ann taylor and i think they're very reminiscent of some much pricier classic michael kors pieces. i'm not typically a big fan of ann taylor clothes for myself but this clutch will definitely keep me looking out for a coupon code.

a little bit of barbie never hurt anyone

i just saw this photo of blake lively from last week's us weekly and i'm kind of obsessed with the pink dress/nude heels combo. some might say its a little barbie-esque but what's wrong with a little barbie in our lives? i think without the orange-day-glow tan it's a really nice look for a summer wedding or engagement party. the one blake's wearing is michael kors (i found it online at saks.com retailing for $1,595 - whoa) but this coral forever 21 version is also super cute and goes for only $13.50! i've seen it a few times in the store here in soho and with the right accessories i think it'd do the job for sure. if you're scared of the pink (don't be scurrrrrred, pink is hot!) it also comes in royal blue, black and a darker pink.
